Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Midwives to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. Work in a dynamic birth suite with a dedicated team of midwives, obstetricians and paediatricians. We offer work to suit you and opportunities to develop your skills and grow within the team. You will have the opportunity to work across the Antenatal ward, Post-natal ward and our Special Care Nursery on a rotational basis.
Join an amazing team of highly skilled midwives and work directly with consultant obstetricians in our 6-bed birthing suite, delivering care to families in the Newcastle region.
The Role
An opportunity for a motivated Registered Midwife to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. We are looking for an experienced midwife who is committed to delivering safe, high-quality and women-centred care. You will support women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period and enjoy working in an inclusive environment that values diverse families.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Ability to advocate for and implement individualised, woman-centred care
- Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
- Professional manner when working with complex situations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty
- Basic computer skills

Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable) and evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles may be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
If you are successful in the role, salary will be based on years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Enterprise Agreement, with a salary range of $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
