**Role description**:
This position will assist the payroll manager and ensure payroll is processed accurately and to deadlines.
**Role accountabilities**:
The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance for the full end-to-end payroll process in Australia, constituting approx. 800 Permanent employees and 200 casual employees
- Provide adequate backup to allow for absences of Payroll Manager, both planned and unforeseen
- Assistance with Payroll related general ledger activities, running financial reports, and assisting with month end processes
- Experience with Novated leases and assisting in the reconciliation monthly
- Knowledge and input for payroll related balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience in implementing salary sacrifice arrangements
- Assistance to prepare and lodge statutory returns, and ABS requirements
- Implementing best practice and standardisation of process and procedures
- Interaction with the business in aspects related to Payroll matters
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis
- Ensuring you are familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Extensive previous working knowledge of Sage MicroPay
- Demonstrated past experience in a similar Australian payroll position, preferably in a professional services environment
- Current knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to payroll e.g. Single touch payroll
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
