What's the opportunity?
The goal of 1800RESPECT is to serve as a national entry point for individuals experiencing, or at risk of, domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV). Our mission is to reduce the prevalence and impact of DFSV across the Australian community by providing accessible information, referrals, and counselling services.
The Senior Clinical Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring clinical and DFSV expertise informs the development, review, and implementation of evidence-based knowledge resources across the 1800RESPECT program. This includes embedding best-practice policies, procedures, and guidelines throughout the service, supporting Telstra Health's Clinical Governance Framework, contributing to learning and development initiatives, and offering guidance to strengthen support for people with complex needs.
About the role:
Clinical Governance, Advice and Leadership
Develop and continuously improve clinical policies, procedures and guidelines across 1800RESPECT that support best practice standards and alignment with the Telstra Health clinical governance framework.
Support the Clinical Director and provide expert clinical advice and guidance to clinical and leadership teams.
Utilise change management practices and effective communication strategies in the sharing of new and updated knowledge across the service.
Oversee service quality assurance processes, embedding risk management, compliance measures, and evidence-based approaches into service delivery.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and legal requirements, aligning program policies with national frameworks and legislative obligations.
Ensure clinical risk and incidents are reported as per the incident reporting procedure.
Provide a DFVSA clinical lens and advice to Telstra Health Communications and Marketing teams, ad-hoc requests from the Department of Social Services, and any other requests.
Support the Learning and Development team in translating knowledge and information into learning opportunities for staff.
Lead regular network meetings of partners and external stakeholders for the sharing of information and practices.
Provide clinical supervision to senior staff.
Quality Improvement
Contribute to the resolution of clinical complaints, through a fair and transparent process.
Participate in and support the continuous improvement of the feedback management system in collaboration with the Quality and Risk Management Team.
Provide regular reporting on clinical incidents, risks, compliance and actively contribute to the 1800RESPECT Clinical Governance Committee.
Provide insight and content to support the continuous improvement of the framework for supporting people with complex needs, including the creation of practice guidelines and the provision of clinical expertise to team members.
Contribute to learning and development programs through a continuous improvement cycle.
Assessment and mitigation of clinical risk
Identify clinical risk in any new development or release, practice or policy for 1800RESPECT products and services.
Use a systematic approach to gather requirements and analyse digital health solutions to ensure clinical specifications are tested through to production.
Contribute to clinical safety assessment to identify potential clinical risks and work collaboratively with the planning/designing, building, testing, deployment, support and maintenance teams, to mitigate any risks.
Identify and communicate trends and gaps in quality and safety data and outcomes to key stakeholders.
Provide subject matter expertise to key stakeholders and clinical end-users to address day to day issues relating to clinical safety, quality outcomes and to mitigate risk.
About you:
Experience in a clinical subject matter expert role in the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) sector.
Demonstrated experience in developing and writing clinical policies and procedures.
Experience conducting research and translating evidence-based findings into practical guidelines and resources.
Skilled in writing for diverse audiences, including clinical teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Experience in implementing Clinical Governance Frameworks.
Clinical supervision experience.
Strong operational experience preferably within telehealth service provision.
Education, Certification, Qualifications:
Psychologist registered with AHPRA or Social Worker registered with AASW.
Master's qualification considered favourably.
