Aboriginal Family Support Services is a lead Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been providing services to Aboriginal families and communities across South Australia for over 45 years.
Your new role
Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of Narungga House and Olga Fudge Lodge. Support Homelessness Navigators to provide Case Management to the young people residing. Holds responsibility for supporting and developing a highly performing team who provide quality client care and Case Management. Represent AFSS on an operational level at the sector and alliance events and will have the ability to speak about cultural issues as they arise. Advocate culturally safe services for Aboriginal families, ensure best practice is engaged and work towards the collective goal of ending homelessness in a culturally responsive and enriching way, together with the community. Work closely with the rest of the AFSS Homeless Leadership Team including Cultural Engagement Officer, Coordinator Wardli Ana and Manager Homelessness Services.
Who we are looking for
* Implement and manage the ongoing operational delivery of AFSS AYCA Program and ensure consistency in culturally responsive and best practice delivery across the alliance and provide leadership in the sector.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team of Cultural engagement officers, Case Managers, team leaders and youth workers to provide outstanding services and encourage innovation in service delivery to meet client needs.
* Working with both internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain positive partnerships across government, the Towards home Alliance and Homelessness sector.
* Ensure that services safeguard client's cultural identity and connection with their community in partnership and consultation with the client and community members.
* Actively manage the completion of administrative tasks including data reporting and the use of AFSS processes and tools to manage workloads and priorities.
To be successful you will need
* A South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* A NDIS Workers Check
* A Child Safe Environments – Through their Eyes Certificate
* A National Police Check
* A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003/HLTAID011/HLTAID012)
* Infant safety Training Certificate
* Fire Safety Training Certificate
* Unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia
* Certificate IV, Diploma or degree in community service-related qualification.
