About the team
SafeWork NSW Operations Riverina Murray region has a
strategic approach to supporting safe, healthy, and productive workplaces in the
Riverina and Murray regions of Regional NSW. This approach focuses on
protecting NSW workers through strategic stakeholder engagement, evidence-based
and risk-focused harm prevention initiatives, and proportionate and targeted
regulatory responses to incidents and service requests.
By engaging with stakeholders, implementing data-driven
initiatives, and responding effectively to incidents, SafeWork NSW aims to
reduce workplace harm and incidents in Riverina Murray promoting a culture of
safety and health in NSW workplaces.
About the role
Reporting
through to the Manager, Operations Regional, Riverina Murray, as a Team
Coordinator you will provide supervision, operational support and quality
assurance, conduct requests for service, incident investigations,
prevention and response programs of work.
Principal
supervision will be for Inspectors and support staff in the Wagga Wagga and
Griffith offices.
The
successful applicant will be able to nominate either the Wagga Wagga or
Griffith office as their base location.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Coordinate, supervise and support a team of
professionals that may include Inspectors, specialists, project officers
and support staff.
* Provide
coordinated team supervision and operational support in the office and the
field to ensure services and decisions align with our strategic plan,
regulatory priorities, legislation, policies and procedures, and customer
service standards, and are consistent, professional and responsive.
* Offer
advice regarding safe work practices and how to comply with relevant work
health and safety laws.
* Support
the community and people of NSW by identifying emerging issues and
industry trends and supporting implementation of prevention and response
programs of work that address both physical and psychosocial harms and
hazards.
* Build
and maintain effective and professional working relationships with
customers and stakeholders to improve WHS outcomes.
* Provide
coaching and mentoring to team members, ensuring internal administrative
and organisational requirements are completed.
* Deliver
presentations, workshops, advisory services and forums.
* Contribute
to a positive, supportive, and rewarding workplace.

at explaining complex information in clear, practical terms.
* Able
to balance capability building with compliance and enforcement in NSW
workplaces.
* Comfortable
working in dynamic environments with competing priorities.

about improving workplace safety through targeted industry specific
proactive programs.
* Demonstrated
ability to implement contemporary supervision strategies to lead a team of
multi-disciplinary professionals and support staff in a coordinated wider
team environment.

a 38-hour working week, including some weekends and participate in the
After-Hours Emergency Response Service.
* Receive
an attractive salary package along with the required tools of the trade,
including a vehicle with access to private use (currently at a cost of
approximately $227 per fortnight).
* Be
able to access flexible working conditions within operational requirements.
Essential
requirements
* Ability
to travel, work remotely and out of usual business hours.
* Hold
a NSW 'C' class drivers' licence with a satisfactory safe driving record
and a requirement to maintain the safe driving record throughout
employment.
* Satisfactory
criminal record check.
* Satisfactory
medical assessment capacity regarding physical and psychological impacts
of the inherent duties of the role.
* Undertake
the 12-month New Inspector Training Program (NITP) if required. This
intensive program is delivered by our Registered Training Organisation and
combines mandatory components of induction, class training, online
learning, completion of set assessments and tasks, and extensive
on-the-job field training with regular travel throughout NSW. For more
