Are you a strategic leader ready to shape the future of local government through innovation, integrity, and community connection?
Wodonga Council is seeking a strategic and people-focused Manager Governance, Performance and Engagement to lead a diverse portfolio of corporate functions that are central to the organisation's performance, governance, and community connection.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality services across business improvement, governance, risk and assurance, marketing, communications, community engagement, emergency management, and corporate planning and reporting. Your role will be instrumental in aligning these functions with Council's strategic objectives and legislative obligations, while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

* Drive Innovation and Strategic Performance Lead the transformation of Council services through strategic planning, performance reporting, and continuous improvement. You'll oversee service reviews and planning frameworks that align Council's vision with operational delivery, ensuring services are efficient, responsive, and meet community expectations. By embedding data-driven decision-making and monitoring customer satisfaction, you'll create a culture where innovation and accountability are part of everyday practice.

What you'll bring:
A strategic and forward-thinking leader with expertise in change management, planning, and performance. You'll have strong analytical skills, a passion for service excellence, and the ability to engage others in building a high-performing, future-ready organisation.

* Strengthen Governance and Risk Management Oversee the development and implementation of governance, compliance, and risk frameworks that uphold Council's integrity and transparency. You'll support internal audits, manage fraud prevention strategies, and ensure Council meets its legislative obligations.

What you'll bring:
A detail-oriented professional with deep knowledge of governance and risk in a local government context, and the ability to lead with accountability, ethical decision-making, and strategic foresight.

* Lead Strategic Community Engagement, Communications and Marketing Lead the development and delivery of integrated communications and engagement strategies that build trust, promote Council services, and ensure community voices are heard. You'll ensure messaging is clear, inclusive, and aligned with Council's strategic priorities and statutory requirements.

What you'll bring:
Experience in public sector engagement, media relations, and stakeholder management. You'll be passionate about creating meaningful connections between Council and the community.

* Plan for Resilience and Emergency Response Coordinate emergency and business continuity planning to ensure Council is prepared to respond to and recover from critical events.

What you'll bring:
A calm and decisive leader with experience in emergency management and the ability to navigate complex, high-pressure situations.
