Role Summary:
As a Female Disability Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities. You will assist participants in achieving greater independence, inclusion and overall well-being while respecting their dignity, preferences and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care and Support:
* Assist participants with daily living tasks, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and toileting.
* Administer medication as per the participant's care plan and training.
Community Access and Engagement:
* Accompany participants to appointments, recreational activities, and community events.
* Support participants in building social connections and engaging in meaningful activities.
Household Assistance:
* Help with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
* Assist participants in managing daily routines and household tasks.
Transportation:
* Safely transport participants to various locations using your own vehicle or company-provided transport (if applicable).
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress.
* Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Valid driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
* Working with Children Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Screening Check & Manual Handling.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
Desirable:
* Experience in disability support or a related field.
* Understanding of NDIS practices and policies.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
