Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking passionate Resident Medical Officers to join our team in 2025!

Where you'll be working
Tamworth Hospital has 288 beds and is the major Rural Referral Hospital providing services to the North West of NSW.
We are the largest hospital outside the Sydney – Newcastle – Wollongong regions, servicing a local community of 60,000 and a referral community of 175,000.
Tamworth Hospital is a teaching hospital for the University of Newcastle and the Joint Medical Program, University of New England. It is equipped with an onsite postgraduate education complex with clinical skills labs and access to the nearby Education Centre, University of Newcastle.
The Emergency Department is delineated to Level 5 and offers great experience in leading-edge critical care medicine.
Tamworth is a trauma centre for the NSW North West with a locally staffed helicopter retrieval service.
Tamworth Hospital encourages collaboration and collegiate relationships across multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best service delivery.
General Rotations RMO : You will have the opportunity to undertake terms (rotations) in areas such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Rehabilitation, Neurology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Respiratory, ENT Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Psychiatry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Intensive Care, Palliative Care, Primary Care, Anatomical Pathology, Anaesthetics, and Emergency Medicine. The RMO clinical year consists of 5 terms, including at least one in Emergency or Primary Care and one in Relief. We are committed to vocational training and career support; term allocations are based on submitted preferences, training needs, and future aspirations.

What you'll be doing
The position involves providing medical care and support as part of a multidisciplinary team, consistent with your level of clinical competency and experience.
This includes assessing and managing patients across several clinical departments under supervision, while developing broad skills in clinical decision-making and practice.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills per AHPRA standards.
