About the opportunity –
As Principal Statutory Planner, you'll play a pivotal role working across impactful projects that support sustainable development, enhance community wellbeing, and drive smart, integrated growth. This is an ideal step-up for an experienced planner ready to advance their career.
You will make an impact by
* Leading complex statutory planning projects that drive sustainable economic growth.
* Providing expert advice to internal teams, developers, and the community.
* Representing Council at VCAT and other forums with professionalism and confidence.
* Mentoring and supporting team members to build capability and improve service delivery.
* Collaborating with Economic Development to unlock strategic opportunities for growth.
What you will bring
* Tertiary qualifications in planning or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in statutory planning within the Victorian planning system.
* Strong understanding of the social, environmental, and economic context of interface councils.
* Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and consultant teams.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
* A collaborative and adaptable working style with a focus on outcomes.
* Confidence in preparing and presenting reports, briefings, and submissions.
