About the Role
Rural Roads Team is a core part of Cloncurry Shire Council's Infrastructure. Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, constructing and operating rural roads, this position requires a great work ethic but is very rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform final trim grading and associated grader tasks.
* Complete allocated work effectively and efficiently within expected timeframes and to minimise the amount of re-work required.
* Operate plant and machinery within the level of competency.
* Ensure all Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental practices are adhered to.
Qualifications and Licences
* Evidence of relevant Grader Operator Competency.
* Construction White Card.
* Hold and maintain a manual C class driver's licence.
Benefits
* Over Award Payment of $70,000 - $75,000 (dependent on assessed skill level) + Superannuation.
* With overtime, total annual earnings generally average $90,000+.
* 5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading).
* Monthly RDO.
* 5:2 Roster - when in camp then 4 nights in camp per week - (Camp Allowance of $75 per night).
* Personal (Sick) Leave.
* Remote Area Housing Assistance ($60 pw Renting/$90 pw Homeowner).
* Overtime Rates Paid when applicable.
Relocation
The successful candidate will be expected to move to Cloncurry as part of their employment.
Desirable Qualifications
* Cert III in Plant Operation and Civil Construction.
* Working knowledge of local government and Civil Work Operations.
* Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR).
