- The Principal Contract Manager is responsible for developing/improving, managing and monitoring contract management activities to ensure value for money is realised, contracts deliver the required outcomes and risks are appropriately managed.
- The Principal Contract Manager is a key relationship manager between SAAS and its strategic suppliers to develop shared pathways to ensure improved patient care. The role provides a critical link to ensure rural and remote South Australian's receive the specialist care they require in a timely fashion.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Strategic Contract Management:
- Provide advice on best practices for contract management of services and materials.
- Develop and implement contract management strategies with stakeholders, including regular reports.
- Review contract documentation and assess risks, establish mitigation strategies, and monitor complex contracts.
Teamwork and Continuous Improvement:
- Initiate and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance customer service and relationships.
- Develop and implement SAAS/SA Health contract management policies and procedures.
- Foster a team environment, support contributions of others, and actively build trust and rapport.
Risk Management:
- Identify, analyse, and address risks and gaps associated with the delivery of contracted services.
- Develop and implement strategies and processes for effective risk mitigation or control.
Relationship Management:
- Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers, service providers, and SAAS staff.
- Develop stakeholder management plans for contract governance and ownership.
- Maintain relationships with other agencies and jurisdictions for sourcing and contract management opportunities.
Financial Management:
- Provide oversight to ensure adherence to delegations of authority in contract-related financial transactions.
- Deliver leadership for establishing, coordinating, and monitoring financial management processes and strategies across contracts.
- Ensure compliance of contract-related financial processes with SAAS policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Communication and Awareness:
- Develop and maintain communication plans for specific contracts.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders and seek feedback on procurement operations and services.
- Educate and promote awareness of effective contract management practices.
