Macedon Ranges Shire Council is seeking to appoint an Independent Advisor for its CEO Employment and Remuneration Committee and is calling for expressions of interest from suitably skilled and qualified people. The committee is an advisory committee providing advice to council on the recruitment, performance review, remuneration and contract of employment of the Chief Executive Officer.
The Independent Advisor must have and be able to demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrated senior executive management experience and/or background in human resources, employment law or organisational governance.
* Proven expertise in CEO performance management, development, and contemporary remuneration practices, including benchmarking and contractual oversight
* Demonstrated experience advising Boards, Councillors, and/or Executive Committees in a comparable professional advisory capacity with the ability to provide independent, evidence‐based recommendations.
* Experience working effectively with Councillors, Government Boards, or similar elected bodies within a local government environment, including experience chairing or supporting governance committees (desirable).
The Independent Advisor will be appointed for a term of up to four years, with eligibility for one further term of up to four years and will be required to attend a minimum of two meetings per year, plus additional meetings as determined by the committee.
The Advisor will be paid in accordance with Schedule C of the Victorian Government Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines 2020 and will be based on a daily or half-daily rate.
