Senior Test Manager - Payroll Transformation Program6-Month Rolling Contract | Sydney | Day Rate $1,100–$1,150 + GST
We're looking for an experienced Senior Test Manager to lead the testing function for a major Payroll Transformation Program. This is a high-profile, hands‐on role, offering the chance to define strategy, oversee execution, and provide independent assurance across multiple projects, vendors, and releases.
The Role:
As the Program Senior Test Manager, you will be responsible for the end‐to‐end test strategy, governance, and quality assurance across the payroll transformation program. You'll work closely with program leadership, cross‐functional teams and external vendors to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, meet business requirements and are ready for adoption. This role champions quality as a core delivery principle, embedding testing across the full system lifecycle from requirements through production verification and post‐go‐live assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define, implement, and govern the program‐wide test strategy, framework, standards and processes.
* Lead, coach and manage a team of test analysts and cross‐functional resources to deliver quality outcomes.
* Oversee all testing phases including unit, system integration, functional, non‐functional, UAT, regression, data conversion and production readiness testing.
* Provide independent quality assurance and risk insight to program leadership.
* Govern and assure testing activities performed by external vendors and system integrators.
* Partner with business, payroll, finance and technology stakeholders to ensure testing aligns with business processes and real‐world scenarios.
* Deliver timely reporting on test coverage, defects, risks and release readiness to executive stakeholders.
* Contribute to the quality community, sharing best practices and uplifting testing capability across the organisation.
What You'll Need:
* 10+ years' experience in test leadership and management, including manual and automated testing.
* 7+ years managing testing in complex, large‐scale enterprise programmes with multiple concurrent projects.
* Experience working with ADP GlobalView Payroll.
* Experience leading testing for HR, payroll, ERP or time & attendance systems.
* Strong expertise in test strategy, planning, governance and execution, including risk and vendor management.
* Proven skills in stakeholder engagement, executive reporting and cross‐functional team leadership.
* Advanced knowledge of testing tools and frameworks such as Jira, Zephyr, Confluence and automated testing tools.
* Experience working with Waterfall and Agile methodologies in large enterprise programmes.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
