Offer description

What's the role?

This is a 12-month contract opportunity supporting a major newsroom transformation program within a leading media organisation. As the Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping future newsroom processes and workflows as the program enters the Detailed Design and Planning phase.

Working closely with the Process and Workflow Stream Lead and technology teams, you will design and document future‐state processes, workflows, and business requirements that support new planning and authoring systems and enable more digital‐first publishing capabilities. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to analyse current ways of working, define improved workflows, and ensure solutions align with the program's broader transformation objectives.

The ideal candidate is analytical and detail‐oriented, with strong communication skills. They are pragmatic, hands‐on, and delivery‐focused, able to build trust quickly while navigating complex stakeholder groups and constructively challenging the status quo.

Key responsibilities:
* Develop detailed future‐state process maps and workflows aligned to program objectives
* Capture, validate and manage business requirements with robust change control and traceability
* Facilitate workshops with content creators, producers, digital teams and support functions to validate and refine processes
* Create implementation‐ready artefacts including RACI matrices, SOPs and process guides
* Support pilots and phased rollouts, capturing feedback and iterating as required
Who are you?
* Proven Senior Business Analyst experience specialising in process mapping and design, with strong capability in current/future‐state process mapping, workflow analysis, and business requirements management.
* Demonstrated understanding of end‐to‐end delivery lifecycles and ability to translate high‐level concepts into executable detail.
* Proficiency in process mapping tools and notations (BPMN, swim‐lanes, Visio, Miro).
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all levels.
* Available to work with the program team in the Sydney office at least 3 days per week (2 days work from home available), with potential interstate travel.
* Experience in media, news, broadcasting, or content organisations is desirable.
* Experience in large‐scale transformation or operating model change programmes and working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments is desirable.
