Flinders Christian Community College is a large, K-12, multi-campus independent school on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. The College is enjoying a period of significant growth and is looking to innovate in how we structure our Shared Services teams to support the future aspirations of the College. Integral to this new arrangement is the creation of a new role of Financial Accountant.
Position Overview
The Financial Accountant supports the Business Manager in overseeing the Finance function, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. The role plays a key part in managing month-end processes, maintaining financial records, and driving efficiency through finance-related projects. A key aspect of this position is acting as the backup to the Senior Payroll Officer. Practical experience in processing payroll is highly advantageous as being a backup to the senior payroll officer will be a key aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a finance team, preferably in or alongside a payroll function, and be a CA or CPA member or be willing to study towards it. Experience within a school or education environment will be highly regarded.
