Kitchen Innovations is seeking an experienced and passionate Stone Mason and Waterjet Operator to join our professional staff on a full-time basis, using a range of specialist tools and machinery to cut and create stone benchtops.
Duties & responsibilities:
* Follow detailed plans and drawings to create custom benchtops
* Shape and cut marble, granite, porcelain, and engineered stone through the use of a range of specialised machinery
* Polishing finished surfaces to a high standard
* Calculate angles and measurements
* Fabrication of benchtops using a variety of glues
* Following the guidance of your team leader
* Adhering to company safety protocols and procedures
Experience & attributes:
* Prior stonemasonry experience
* Proficiency and experience in waterjet operation is preferred
* CNC machine experience
* Previous trade experience is advantageous, though non-essential
* Reliable punctuality
* Good time management & organisational skills
* A keen eye for detail, fit, and finish
* An honest & motivated approach to work
* Completed Silica Health Assessment

Silica dust is generated in workplace mechanical processes such as crushing, cutting, drilling, grinding, sawing or polishing of natural stone or man-made products that contain silica. Some dust particles can be so small that they are not visible; these are commonly referred to as respirable particles.
Respirable silica dust particles are small enough to penetrate deep into the lungs and can cause irreversible lung damage.
The health risks of silica dust can include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema), silicosis (an irreversible scarring and stiffening of the lungs), lung cancer (associated with silicosis), kidney disease and auto-immune diseases such as scleroderma.
Kitchen Innovations has in place an accurate Managing Risks Plan to avoid/reduce worker exposures to silica in accordance with their Engineered Stone Licence. This is achieved by multiple measures including, but not limited to; PPE,RPE, training, minimising risk. Kitchen Innovations also has in place a health monitoring process.
