Family and Carer Peer Practitioner Role
We are seeking an experienced Family and Carer Peer Practitioner to support individuals with mental health challenges in their personal journey towards recovery and well-being.
About the Position
The successful candidate will provide peer-led, solution-focused support to individuals and their families/carers. This includes delivering one-on-one support, facilitating peer-led groups, and working collaboratively with local services and community organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver relational recovery-oriented practice from a peer/lived experience perspective, promoting empowerment and self-advocacy.
* Provide empathic person-centred relational support, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual.
* Engage with local services and community organisations to identify family/carers and provide early intervention support, fostering strong relationships and trust.
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Significant lived experience of mental health challenges, allowing you to draw upon your own expertise to inform your practice.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and professionals.
* A deep understanding of mental health recovery principles and practices, including trauma-informed care and relational recovery-oriented approaches.
