This category will round out your buying skills and provide you with a strong skill set to take your next step into a Category Management opportunity, providing a significant opportunity to challenge our current promotional strategies in a category that has strong customer interaction in stores and strong competition in the market place.

About the Role
The primary responsibilities of an Assistant Category Manager will include, however not be limited to:
1. Strong Buying focus in delivering a market leading ranges across our stores in the complex stationery portfolio with a strong emphasis on promotions and Back to school events
2. Create and develop end to end promotional strategy / plan with data-backed customer insights and through negotiations with suppliers
3. Drive Sales, profit and market share improvement through developing and executing strategic category initiatives and promotional effectiveness
4. Invest time with Category Manager and suppliers in stores conducting competitor analysis through store visits and develop strategies for growth
5. Working with Food Co Asia to build and develop new ranges
6. Identify new opportunities that are better for the customer and easier for our store teams to execute
7. Understand supplier base capability and constantly identify opportunities and seek and nurture new supplier relationships which will deliver long term competitive advantage for Woolworths
8. Support the development of other team members
About You
We are looking for our next commercial manager with the following skills and experience:
9. Previous buying / ACM experience in FMCG/Retail environment
10. Experienced in planning a strong promotional program to maximise sales and profit opportunities
11. A track record in using customer insights and data to make strategic and commercial business decisions
12. Strong supplier engagement and negotiation skills
13. Wanting to learn and apply strategic category management skills
14. A proven track record of sound commercial acumen
15. Be customer centric and able to develop a customer focused promotional plan
16. Demonstrated the ability to negotiate and influence with cross functional and external stakeholders
17. An innovation and continuous improvement focused mentality
18. Strong verbal and written communication skills
19. Proven ability of delivering against KPIs within previous roles
20. Support and develop other team members through cross pollination of strengths
