About the Role
Inspire young lives with faith and compassion in a supportive Christian school. Lead student programs, lunchtime groups and school events.
* 2 days per week | 30.4 hours per fortnight | Monday & Tuesday
* Offer compassionate pastoral care and guidance to students, staff, and families
* Work in partnership with teachers and parents to support student wellbeing
As a Chaplain at Carinity Education Southside, you'll bring the Christian ethos to life by building meaningful relationships and providing pastoral care to students, parents, and staff. You'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to providing youth with a quality education. Your role will support young people through social, emotional, spiritual, and academic challenges, while also contributing to school events, lunchtime groups, and Christian programs that foster an inclusive and positive culture.
Your Day-to-day Will Involve
* Provide pastoral care and counselling to students, parents, and staff, including support for students facing family breakdown, abuse, neglect, or mental health challenges
* Facilitate Christian-based activities, such as prayer groups, Bible studies, and personal development programs
* Collaborate with teaching staff, Behaviour Support Workers, and external professionals to support student wellbeing
* Participate in school assemblies, events, camps, excursions, and graduations
* Maintain accurate records of student support and progress, ensuring confidentiality
* Build and maintain strong relationships with the wider school community, including parents, volunteers, local churches, and referral agencies
About You
You are a committed Christian who is passionate about supporting youth and their families. You bring empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with students, staff, and external professionals. You are organised, adaptable, and proactive in fostering a safe, supportive, and values-driven school environment.
* Certificate IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care (or equivalent) with mandatory units in Mental Health, Making Appropriate Referrals, and Providing Pastoral Care or Working with Youth
* Demonstrated experience in school chaplaincy, pastoral care, counselling, or working with marginalised youth
* Current Blue Card and a C class licence
* Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and time management, conflict resolution, and collaborative decision-making
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
