About Us

Larvotto Resources Limited (LVR) is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project in Armidale, NSW. This project offers a unique opportunity to work within the mining industry and reside in the vibrant regional town of Armidale, renowned for its quality of life, educational institutions, and beautiful surroundings. Centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney, Armidale is just a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.

Larvotto Resources is forging ahead with current ramp up activities on our Hillgrove Antimony and Gold project and we now are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer (Open Pit) to join our onsite technical team on a permanent full-time basis.

Please note: Relocation Assistance will be offered for the preferred candidate.

Roster - 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off (5/2, 4/3) Day Shift

About the Role

Reporting into the Superintendent, Mine Technical the Mining Engineer (Open Pit) will provide short to medium term mine planning, operational engineering support and grade control oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining outcomes. You will play a key role in reducing dilution, improving reconciliation, and ensuring ore delivery aligns with processing and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities will include:

* Develop and maintain short-term (daily/weekly) and medium-term (monthly) mine plans, with input into long-term planning
* Design pit layouts, pushbacks, berms, haul roads, ramps and waste dumps
* Work closely with geology to integrate grade control, block models and reconciliation processes
* Optimise drill and blast designs in collaboration with contractors
* Monitor fleet productivity and recommend improvements to equipment allocation and rosters
* Conduct monthly reconciliation of tonnes and investigate variances with Geology
* Support budgeting, forecasting and mine cost tracking
* Maintain a strong site presence through pit inspections and operational support
* Ensure compliance with NSW mining legislation, environmental approvals and HSEC standards
* Liaise with contractors and provide technical support to operations supervision

Qualifications and experience:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
* A minimum of 3 years experience in open pit Mining industry (base metals/hard rock preferred).
* Strong experience in grade control, dilution management and reconciliation
* Proficiency with mine planning and design software Surpac, Deswik (preferred)
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with operational teams
* Practical, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset

Other Requirements

* Current valid Manual Drivers License
* First Aid Certification / CPR qualification, (highly desired)
* Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old), or undertake
* Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
* Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
