Staff Specialist in Neurology (Cognitive Services)
John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle, NSW
Temporary fixed term for 12 months, 0.4 FTE.

Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality inpatient neurology and stroke care, including participation in general neurology and acute stroke after‑hours on‑call rosters.
* Lead the assessment and management of cognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, and Geriatrics.
* Contribute to the development and restructuring of cognitive services at John Hunter Hospital.
* Drive innovation through outcome‑based data and best practice principles, fostering a values‑driven culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Current primary medical degree registered with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (Neurology).
* Accredited training and experience in Adult Neurology (including Stroke), with substantive experience in acute reperfusion therapy.
* Recent and comprehensive experience in cognitive neurology; interest in neuropsychiatry is highly desirable.
