This role is withina multidisciplinary team under the Department of Health Tasmania. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health care to children, adolescents, and their families.
The team includes professionals from various disciplines such as:
* Social Work
* Occupational Therapy
* Nursing and Medical staff
Together, they provide:
* Therapeutic interventions
* Community engagement and education
The team works collaboratively within a supportive framework, guided by national mental health standards and evidence-based practices. They are committed to promoting mental wellness, early intervention, and continuity of care across Tasmania's diverse communities.
The Role
As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, our team – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS):
* Undertakes the delivery of quality care to clients of CAMHS based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
* Provides a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of CAMHS and their families or carers.
* Promotes community awareness in relation to mental health and acts as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.
You will need
* A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and/or Older Persons Mental Health Service area.
* Demonstrated clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health in relation to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service area with the ability to provide appropriate assessment of mental health problems.
* Demonstrated expertise in the theoretical and practical application of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community and Older Persons Mental Health Service area with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
* Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
* Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable as determined by individual position requirements)
