Isaac Regional Council, established in 2008, is responsible for providing facilities and services to the Isaac region in Queensland, Australia. The council's focus is on efficient and effective service delivery, encouraging strategic and sustainable development, and fostering a thriving community. It manages a diverse region encompassing mining towns, coastal communities, and rural localities.
Your new role
Day-to-day, you will be carrying out the following duties:
* Drafting and typing of emails, letters and any other documents as required
* Ensure all relevant documentation is registered in the Council's Records Management System in the correct location, and where requested complete the registration of items from Officers within
* Data input, reporting and maintenance of registers
* Research for and collation of routine Council reports
* Undertake spread sheeting duties as required
* Respond to routine enquiries and receiving and passing on customer contacts in the absence of Officers
* Assess applications to ensure compliance with respective Acts and Regulations
* Liaise closely with Information Management to instigate the creation of new files
* Minute taking of meetings as required
* Ensure all current forms, workflows, processes and procedures for work are fully documented and updated on at least a 6 monthly and as needed basis
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have the following:
* The role requires the possession of a current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence
* Demonstrated knowledge of administrative processes (Microsoft applications), including letter preparation, preparation of documents, meeting minutes, compiling memos, email management
* Photocopying, general financial processes and spread sheeting;
* Knowledge of corporate governance and community engagement processes
* Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary work teams and with a range of stakeholders
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to problem solve and develop processes and procedures that support business improvement.
* Vocational qualifications in Business and/or Local Government would be highly regarded but not necessary.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered a 4-month contract with the possibility of extension for the right applicant working full-time hours Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. This role is based in Moranbah, offering $48.08 per hour plus superannuation, with weekly pay!
