Raytheon Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Program Manager to join our Joint Adversarial Training & Testing Services (JATTS) Program located in the beautiful Shoalhaven region near Nowra NSW. JATTS provides operational training against live aerial opposing forces (red air), airborne Electronic Warfare and aerial targets.
Raytheon Australia has been providing airborne adversarial Electronic Warfare (EW) training for Australian Defence Force warfare and command teams since 2001. We deliver this capability using highly modified special mission Learjet 35 aircraft configured to simulate real-world airborne EW threats in differing electromagnetic environments across all combat domains.
The Deputy Program Manager will assist the JATTS Program Manager to lead and manage the JATTS Program, setting the vision, support and subcontractor management strategies and providing tactical direction for program execution by multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors. Focused on achieving the performance requirements of the program, the Deputy Program Manager will assist in ensuring that operational requirements and financial performance is within contracted requirements. The Deputy Program Manager will also support, develop and lead future business opportunities, including business proposals, plans and subcontracts.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the planning, coordination and management of program operations including sub-contract management, risk management and budget, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage project opportunities and risks and develop mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout all project phases.
- Establish and implement plans, strategies and milestones for the program, and monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules.
- Develop, manage, maintain and report program status and progress according to the customers' key performance indicators.
- Identify, facilitate and support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives throughout the program’s lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, suppliers and contractors.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- University Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Business Management or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- Ideally 8 years relevant experience
- Experience in establishing and managing integrated schedules, strategic planning and ability to identify conflicts and priorities
- Demonstrated practical knowledge leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within a job area
- High level skills in financial cost control including the ability to monitor and control project costs and guide financial completion activities
- Experience managing a mid-sized team consisting of experienced professionals and leading, directing and reviewing the work of a team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments
- Experience managing complex projects within Australian Defence and Defence industry will be highly regarded
