GBK is seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded General Manager Finance & Corporate Services to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal executive role responsible for driving financial sustainability, leading enterprise financial management, and overseeing the corporate services functions that underpin organisational performance.

This is not a traditional finance role. It is an enterprise leadership position with influence across strategy, risk, capability, and operational excellence.

About Us

Gur A Baradharaw Kod Torres Strait Sea and Land Council (GBK) is the peak body representing Registered Native Title Bodies Corporate across the Torres Strait and Endeavour region. We work in partnership with Traditional Owners to strengthen capability, support sustainable land and sea management, and deliver employment and community programs.

The Opportunity

As General Manager Finance & Corporate Services, you will:

Shape financial strategy to support long-term sustainability, investment planning, and organisational growth

Lead enterprise financial stewardship, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance oversight

Maintain strong financial controls, compliance and audit readiness, ensuring alignment with regulatory and funding requirements

Oversee corporate services, including ICT, asset management, business systems, and operational support functions

Drive organisational capability by improving systems, processes and financial literacy across leadership

Partner at executive level, contributing to whole-of-organisation decision-making, risk management, and strategic delivery

This role requires a leader who can operate at both strategic and operational levels, balancing high-level financial direction with practical execution and system improvement.

About You

You are an experienced senior leader who brings:

Extensive executive-level experience in financial management and organisational leadership

Strong capability in financial stewardship, risk, compliance, and audit frameworks

A track record of delivering clear, decision-grade reporting to Boards and executives

Experience leading corporate or enabling services functions such as ICT, assets, business systems or operations

Demonstrated ability to drive organisational improvement through systems, process, and capability uplift

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline

CPA or CA qualification

You are commercially sharp, systems-oriented, and comfortable operating in complex, multi-program environments.
