Key Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Active sleep over: Overnight support where the worker is required to be awake and available to provide support to the participant for more than two hours during the overnight period.
* PEG Feeding: Support and assist the client with PEG feeding.
* Manual handling: Aid clients with mobility challenges through proper manual handling techniques and assisting with exercises.
* Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in social, recreational, and community activities.
* Domestic Duties: Assist with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean-living environment.
* Behavioural Management: Handle clients with high behaviours, employing appropriate strategies to ensure their safety and well-being, including the use of restrictive practices.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide direct care assistance to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed by the coordinator. Ensure completion of appropriate documentation. Relevant information on support provided is to be recorded in client notes. Work with clients, family/carers and other professionals to support the client's individual goals. Services generally between the hours of 6am-6pm Monday to Friday.
