Overview

Your role Our Chambers Band 1 Corporate M&A and Capital Markets practice is expanding, and we are recruiting a high-calibre Associate or Senior Associate to join our Sydney team. This is a fantastic role for somebody looking to work in a collaborative and high performing environment, advising on the most complex and largest deals in the market. Our MAC team is an integral part of the Allens broader Corporate Practice Group. We are pleased to have played a crucial role in the largest and most complex deals in Australia's corporate history. With an emphasis on quality, innovation and timeliness, we deliver highly successful outcomes in M&A for leading companies and financial sponsors in Australia and around the world, including Public M&A (takeovers and schemes), Private M&A (business and share sales and acquisitions), Equity Capital Markets, Private Equity, Head Office & Governance, Due Diligence, General Corporate and Commercial. We are consistently recognised as among the best in Australia and the Asia region. This is a (permanent, full-time) opportunity. Hybrid working (60% in the office) is how we work however flexibility matters at Allens, so if you are seeking hybrid working or are looking for flexibility in your work, we would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.

Responsibilities

* Deliver advice on public and private M&A, equity capital markets and corporate advisory and governance work.
* Work across the MAC practice areas and across sectors including mining, infrastructure, energy, financial services, health, media, technology and retail.
* Collaborate with specialist MAC Partners and Lawyers, supported by Knowledge Management Lawyers, Business Development staff and Practice Assistants; work closely with Banking & Finance, Tax, Funds and other parts of the firm.
* Engage in business development activities (pitch documents, firm-wide pursuits, article writing, industry events and seminars) as part of growth and development.
* Develop leadership and mentoring capabilities to support client and team growth.
