We have been engaged by our client partner, a respected mining contractor, to support the restart of a major gold operation in North Queensland.
About the Role
Located approximately 150km south-west of Townsville, the Mt Carlton Gold Mine sits within Queensland's historic Charters Towers goldfield, one of Australia's most established gold-producing regions. As operations ramp up under new leadership, the site is entering an exciting new phase of production, creating strong opportunities for experienced tradespeople to be part of its next chapter.
We are seeking experienced Auto Electricians with strong mobile plant experience to join the maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability of the site's fleet. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a position on a growing operation as it gains momentum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on mobile plant electrical systems
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults on mining equipment
* Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance
* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot wiring, sensors, and control systems
* Ensure all work complies with site safety standards and procedures
* Complete maintenance reports and documentation accurately
About You:
* Trade qualified Auto Electrician
* Demonstrated experience on mining mobile plant (e.g. CAT, Hitachi, Liebherr)
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
* Solid understanding of safety systems and mine site practices
* Team-oriented with a proactive approach to maintenance
