The Opportunity
Minkara Resort is in the heart of Sydney's Northern Beaches with stunning views over Bayview and Mona Vale. Set over 30 acres, the community creates a tranquil setting for low-maintenance retirement. As a Maintenance Officer, you will play an important role within the community ensuring homes and shared spaces are safe, functional and well presented. You'll manage a range of reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, from repairs to general handyperson work, while engaging positively with residents. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a trade background or strong domestic maintenance experience, who is friendly, proactive, and passionate about helping others.
This is a permanent full time position working Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Your Impact
* Completing general repairs and handyperson tasks such as painting, picture hanging and light replacements
* Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers
* Supporting the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems
* Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community
* Managing community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose
* Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates
* Being a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team
* Please note - this is not a gardening role (we have that covered!)
What you'll bring
* Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role, including hands-on handyperson tasks
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
* An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident-friendly way
* A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work
* A valid driver's licence (essential)
* Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
