This is a senior leadership role with real community impact, overseeing a broad portfolio including offices, residential rehabilitation sites, homelessness services, community housing, and a community hub.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Property to take both strategic and operational ownership of an extensive and geographically dispersed property portfolio.
You will be responsible for all aspects of asset and tenancy management, while ensuring compliance and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across government, contractors, and community groups.
Key Responsibilities
* Negotiate and manage property leases, including renewals
* Develop and deliver planned maintenance programs and capital works
* Oversee tenancy management, including rent collection, arrears, and inspections
* Lead compliance with the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH)
* Prepare and present property performance reports to senior leadership
* Maintain security, access control, and incident response frameworks
* Lead and develop a team across property, tenancy, and maintenance functions
* Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, community councils, and Traditional Owners
About You
* Demonstrated experience managing a diverse property portfolio, ideally across multiple sites
* Strong financial management capability, including budgeting and reporting
* Sound knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (NT) and relevant legislation
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including with First Nations communities
* Ability to work autonomously and implement systems to improve property outcomes
Requirements
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
* Current NT Driver’s Licence
* Tertiary qualifications in property, facilities management, or related field
* Experience with the NRSCH framework
* Background in community services, mental health, or not-for-profit sectors
