The Opportunity
Join one of Australia's largest federal government departments and contribute to the delivery of digital platforms that support millions of Australians. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Senior Developer (APS6 equivalent) with strong modern frontend and full‐stack capability to deliver high‐quality solutions across the software development lifecycle.
The Role
Working under limited direction, you will exercise initiative and judgement across software design, development, and technical decision‐making. You will provide technical leadership, support delivery teams, and contribute to business planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse, design, develop, test and maintain software solutions
* Provide technical leadership and support to development teams
* Define software and technical designs for complex solutions
* Ensure compliance with development methodologies and quality standards
* Support go‐live activities and ongoing maintenance
* Escalate issues and propose alternative technical approaches
* Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver business‐aligned outcomes
* Produce technical documentation and progress reports
* Contribute to workload management and continuous improvement initiatives
What You'll Need
Essential
* 2+ years' experience in modern frontend development (Angular)
* Strong experience with Angular 20+, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML/CSS (Bootstrap) and responsive SPA development
* Experience across full‐stack development and the software development lifecycle
* Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
