Looking for experienced boilermakers & welders to join a heavy fabrication workshop in Paget. 10-12hr shifts.

Our client is a Mackay-based engineering and fabrication company specialising in innovative solutions for the mining industry. They design, manufacture, and refurbish high-performance excavator and shovel buckets, as well as provide bucket repairs, spare parts, and asset monitoring systems. With a strong focus on quality and customer service, they support the entire asset lifecycle-from design and manufacturing to on-site service-while leveraging cutting-edge monitoring tools to optimise performance.
Your new role
* Fabricate and assemble metal components to specifications.
* Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on various steel structures.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
* Cut, shape, and prepare metal using hand tools and machinery.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance on mining equipment and components.
* Inspect welds and structures for quality and compliance.
* Operate workshop equipment safely (grinders, oxy cutters, etc.).
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Follow all WHS procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
* Assist with heavy lifting and positioning of fabricated parts.
What you'll need to succeed
* Boilermaker / Welder Trade Certificate
* Driver's Licence
* High Risk Work Licence - desirable
* Ability to complete an overhead flux core weld test
* Ability to complete a pre-employment medical & police check
* Heavy fabrication experience is a must
What you'll get in return
If successful in our position, you will be working on a Monday to Friday basis, with an option to work weekends. Currently, the workshop is completing hours per shift, and you will be working approx hours per week. There is an attractive hourly rate on offer, and a weekly pay. For the right candidate, there will be long-term work available for you.
