Job Overview:
This is a senior role that requires an experienced professional to lead the Sourcing and Inventory Teams in day-to-day material logistics operations.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Defence Inventory Management Systems, warehousing, inventory, freight and distribution procedures and systems. They must also possess practical experience in import and export operations, contracts, non-standard freight concepts, and fleet management and disposal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and manage Sourcing and Inventory supply chain priorities to meet performance targets
* Provide oversight of delivery and supplies of approved material subcontractor(s)
* Support program issue remediation with customers and other business functions
* Mentor less experienced staff in the team
* Review, revise and authorise procurement and repairs
* Review, revise and authorise risk-based transfer of stock to meet inventory optimisation levels
* Address complex problems and mitigate risks and issues that would otherwise cause delays and significant expenditure of resources
* Provide oversight for material management planning and scheduling
* Support non-conforming product resolution
* Verify recommendations for procurement/repair from inventory management tools/analysis
* Inventory management, including maintaining stock levels at locations and ensuring the integrity of material control data and inventory management system data
* Repairable Item activities including management and control of repairs and technical regulatory reports
* Contribute to performance management against key performance indicators and performance reporting
* Perform fleet management including providing disposal recommendations
* Develop and support the delivery of the Inventory Investment Plan
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in Australian Defence industry
* Advanced Diploma in Material Logistics or demonstrated previous experience
* Previous experience and responsibility for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance the performance of a work area
* Advanced understanding of Defence Inventory Management Systems, warehousing, inventory, freight and distribution procedures and systems, the management of Dangerous Goods, procurement and warehouse interactions and processes, fleet management and disposal processes, key performance indicator measurement and reporting, material management planning and development, supply support optimisation and efficiencies, practical knowledge of import and export operations, contracts, non-standard freight concepts
