As a key player in the Defence industry, UGL supports the Australian Defence Force across 100 locations nationwide, offering services from operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply. We are expanding our scope and seek an experienced Electrician with Hazardous Area certification to join our Maintenance team at HMAS Defence Base, Albatross, Shoalhaven.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work within the Australian Defence environment, supporting national security and engaging with a Tier 1 services provider on a long-term contract.
The Role
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, based at HMAS Albatross with support for surrounding locations in Shoalhaven and occasional regional travel, you will be part of a core team of UGL technicians. Your duties include, but are not limited to:
* Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
* Diagnose and repair fuel-related assets and equipment in breakdown scenarios
* Carry out project work on fuel installations and related assets
* Support subcontracted work packages as required
* Support various sites in the Shoalhaven region, with occasional travel throughout NSW
Salary Rates (Effective from 1st July 2024)
* Level 1 - $44.28/hr + Super + Tool Allowance ($35.27/week) + Licence Allowance ($48.79/week)
* Level 2 - $47.76/hr + Super + Tool Allowance + Licence Allowance
* Level 3 (Dual trade) - $51.26/hr + Super + Tool Allowance + Licence Allowance
Qualifications and Skills
* Cert IV in Instrumentation and A-grade electrical licence with relevant post-trade experience
* Experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
* Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) trained
* Confined space and working at heights tickets are highly regarded
* Commitment to safety
* Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance
