About the role
This is a key role within our nursing team. You'll be responsible for supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the treatment room and providing exceptional care to our patients.
The role suits a nurse with strong people skills who enjoys working closely with patients, particularly in assisting GP's, as well as a variety of treatment room and chronic disease support tasks.
You'll report to the Nurse Supervisor/s and Practice Manager, and be well supported in your role.
Key responsibilities
* Supporting Chronic Disease Management and care planning
* Performing clinical duties within scope and competency, following best-practice guidelines
* Assisting with treatment room activities such as minor procedures, wound care and diagnostics
* Explaining procedures and providing patient education, reassurance and support
* Completing comprehensive health assessments
What we're looking for
Essential
* Current AHPRA nursing registration
* A positive, team-focused attitude and great communication skills
* Comfortable using computers and healthcare technology
* Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training
* COVID vaccinated (initial dose at minimum)
Desirable (but not essential)
* Vaccination qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience or interest in:
o Minor procedures & wound care
o Diagnostics (ECG, audio, spirometry)
o Chronic Disease Management, geriatric care & health assessments
o Infection control
* Experience with Best Practice software, or the ability to pick up new systems quickly
Hours & pay
* Monday to Friday only
* Rostered between the hours of 7:30am – 5:00pm
* No weekends or after-hours work
* Approx. 24–38 hours per week (negotiable to suit you)
* Above-award pay, in line with the Nurses Award 2010 (negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
