This is a Griffith-based WFH remote position to provide representation in south-western NSW, to showcase the region's rich diversity of culture and stories.ABC News is all about Australian communities and their conversations. We create high value, distinctive, content across audio, video and digital platforms, to meet the ABC’s goal of a digital first approach, while maintaining our traditional broadcast processes.The JobCreate multi-platform content to engage local and national audiences.Produce news, interviews and breaking stories and present news bulletins as required.Help plan and develop new content to boost audience engagement.Support emergency coverage and coordinate with stakeholders.Collaborate to share local and regional stories across ABC.Tell diverse stories reflecting Australia’s regional communitiesAbout You You will be an experienced journalist with strong editorial skills and experience with breaking news and generating original, high value, stories in a daily news environment.You will also have:Relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism or equivalent skills and experience.Advanced, creative content creation and strong live presentation and broadcast experience.Strong editorial skills with the ability to source, analyse information, and exercise sound judgment.Good understanding of local audience interests and issues and passion for sourcing and creating authentic content representing Australia’s cultural, linguistic, and Indigenous diversity.An ability to be a self-starter and work under remote supervisionPossession of a current and valid Driver’s Licence.
