Job Summary
The role of Senior Procurement Officer involves collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure that procurement activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic procurement projects are managed by the Senior Procurement Officer in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring that risk requirements are addressed.
* Deliver high quality procurement advice and services covering planning, sourcing documentation development, release and evaluation processes, contract negotiation, contract management including sound Category Management functions and administration activities.
* Contract management and procurement systems compliance is monitored and advised on, in accordance with QPS policies and procedures and the State Procurement Policy.
* Contracts are administered in collaboration with Contract Managers in accordance with the principles of the Queensland Government Contract Management Framework.
* Procurement and contract related issues are negotiated and consulted with internal and external stakeholders regarding to identify specific business needs and to facilitate compliance within the required timeframes.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. The ability to negotiate and consult with stakeholders to identify specific business needs is also crucial. Additionally, knowledge of procurement systems, contract management and category management is necessary.
