Your new role
As a Java Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing and ongoing support of back‑end services. You will provide technical leadership within the team, influence engineering best practice, and mentor other developers. Working in an iterative delivery model, you'll contribute to building scalable, reliable digital products that support critical government services.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Software Engineer
Strong back‑end development experience using Java/Kotlin and/or C# (Python highly regarded)
Experience designing APIs and developing RESTful services across containerised and/or serverless environments
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure
Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code practices
Strong understanding of Domain‑Driven Design (DDD)
Experience with event‑driven processing and event streaming using Apache Kafka
Experience with Kubernetes Operators (advantageous)
A proactive, adaptable working style and ability to operate in ambiguity
A practical, value‑driven approach to delivering solutions
