About the Role:
A School Psychologist works in primary and high schools, providing counselling and psychological assessment to complement the work of teachers. The main goal is to strengthen student learning and wellbeing outcomes, helping families understand and manage their children's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provides individual and group counselling services to students, implementing short-term therapeutic interventions within training, experience, and supervision constraints
* Engages with established frameworks for NSW School Counselling Service procedures
* Works in consultation with school leaders, staff, and student support services to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities
* Contributes to social, emotional, and academic development, supporting complex behavioural needs in schools and students
* Administers cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural assessments, reporting results and collaborating to improve learning and wellbeing
* Collaborates with learning teams, parents, carers, and agencies to develop school-based support for students
* Responds as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents
* Refers students and/or families to other agencies supporting health and wellbeing outcomes
Essential Requirements:
* Knowledge of and commitment to Aboriginal Education Policy and Partnership Agreement with relevant authorities
* General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
* Valid Working with Children Check clearance
* Current driver's licence and ability to travel between work sites
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency
Benefits:
