Financial Controller – 6 Month Contract
Inner West Brisbane | Fast-Growing Manufacturing Business
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Controller to join a rapidly growing manufacturing business based in Brisbane’s inner west. This is a 6-month contract role, suited to a hands-on finance leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and driving tangible improvements.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in supporting a small finance team while strengthening reporting frameworks, controls and process efficiencies during a key growth phase.
The Opportunity
This is not a “steady state” role — it’s an impact assignment.
You will be responsible for:
* Leading month-end reporting and ensuring timely, accurate financial outputs
* Supporting and mentoring a small finance team
* Reviewing and improving internal controls
* Streamlining finance processes and driving efficiencies
* Cleaning up balance sheet reconciliations and historical issues
* Enhancing management reporting to better support commercial decision-making
* Partnering closely with the CFO and broader leadership team
About You
You are an experienced Financial Controller who thrives in fast-paced, growing environments and enjoys bringing structure to evolving businesses.
You will ideally have:
* Proven Financial Controller experience within manufacturing or product-based businesses
* Strong technical accounting capability
* Demonstrated experience improving controls, reporting and finance processes
* A hands-on, proactive approach
* The ability to quickly assess issues and implement practical solutions
* Strong leadership and communication skills
This role would suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys improvement work and wants to make a meaningful impact over a defined period.
