Work from home set up with regular days at our East Maitland Head office
Permanent, Full-time
At Pacific Smiles Group, we're passionate about supporting healthcare professionals to grow, thrive and deliver exceptional patient care.
We're looking for a Practitioner Development Manager to lead the design and delivery of development programs for our Dental Practitioners across a large, distributed national network. This is a senior, hands‐on role for someone who loves building practical learning programs, navigating complex healthcare environments, and turning strategy into real outcomes.
You'll own our end‐to‐end practitioner development ecosystem - from CPD and mentoring to graduate programs, conferences and engagement initiatives - while leading a small team and partnering closely with clinical and executive leaders.
What You'll Be Doing
* CPD strategy and compliance (AHPRA-aligned)
* Graduate Dentist Program and early-career pathways
* Mentoring programs, study groups and referral initiatives
* Practitioner engagement surveys and insights
Design, build and improve programs by:
* Planning and delivering learning initiatives from concept through execution
* Creating scalable, cost‐effective solutions using existing resources
* Applying strong project and change management discipline
* Ensuring consistent, high-quality practitioner experiences across all locations
Partner across the business, working closely with:
* Clinical leaders and practitioners
* Operations, Marketing, Finance, IT and Talent teams
* External providers, speakers, universities and CPD partners
Own governance, budget and insights, including:
* Program governance, reporting and executive dashboards
* Budget ownership, vendor management and cost optimisation
* Data-driven evaluation of impact, participation and ROI
Lead and develop your team, with one direct report supporting program coordination and delivery.
About You
You're a seasoned Learning & Development or Practitioner Development leader who understands how to deliver development programs in complex, healthcare or professional services environments.
You'll likely bring:
* 5‐8+ years' experience in L&D, practitioner development, talent or clinical education
* Strong project and change management capability
* Confidence influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority
* A "builder" mindset — resourceful, pragmatic and commercially aware
* Experience managing budgets, vendors and external partners
Backgrounds from GP, allied health, veterinary, pharmacy or other healthcare networks will be highly regarded.
Why Join Pacific Smiles Group?
* Lead high‐impact programs for healthcare professionals nationally
* Shape the future of practitioner development in a growing organisation
* Senior role with genuine autonomy and executive visibility
* Competitive salary package + performance bonus
* Flexible location options across wider Newcastle region to Sydney (commutable distance a few days per week to our East Maitland Head office)
* Purpose-driven organisation focused on care, quality and people
Ready to Make an Impact?
If you're passionate about developing healthcare professionals and love turning ideas into well‐executed programs at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
