The department's Family Day Care Programs directorate oversees the delivery of high-quality home-based care for children through Family Day Care, Guardianship Family Day Care and Respite Care programs, in line with the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care, the South Australian Children and Young People's Safety Act and National Disability Insurance Scheme.
The Family Day Care (FDC) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the provision of inclusive quality home-based childcare in a designated scheme in accordance with Australian Government and Department for Education legislation, guidelines and policies.
The role provides advice and support to enable the delivery of quality, inclusive and developmentally appropriate care in accordance with state and Australian Government legislation, guidelines and policies. This includes, supporting and coaching educators to work within the National Quality Framework.
The Family Day Care Coordinator works in partnership with the department's FDC Educators who are small business owners.
The roles are located in Port Lincoln and Whyalla (Regional) and Elizabeth (Metro), and regular regional travel may be required.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
