Job Summary

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will support the fabrication of modular construction components in a workshop environment. Under the guidance of experienced carpenters, you will learn to use tools and machinery, prepare materials, and assemble prefabricated parts with precision. This role provides hands-on training in modern building techniques, emphasising quality, efficiency, and sustainability. You'll play a key part in maintaining a safe, organised workspace and contributing to high-quality, innovative construction projects.

Responsibilities:

* Assisting in Component Assembly: Support in building modular components using pre-designed plans and specifications.

* Learning and Using Tools: Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely under supervision.

* Material Handling: Help with the selection, preparation, and organisation of timber and other materials.

* Workshop Maintenance: Ensure the workspace is clean, organised, and free of hazards.

* Measuring and Marking: Accurately measure and mark materials for cutting and assembly.

* Cutting and Shaping Materials: Work under guidance to cut timber and other materials using saws and CNC machines.

* Quality Control: Assist in inspecting finished components to ensure they meet quality standards.

* Learning Prefabrication Techniques: Gain hands-on experience in modular construction methods and joinery.

* Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

* Supporting Senior Carpenters: Provide assistance to experienced carpenters and fabricators with various tasks and projects.

About you:

* Have a strong interest in carpentry and construction.

* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

* Dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, adhering to and company safety policies and regulations.

* Previous experience in carpentry or construction is not required, but enthusiasm and a strong work ethic are essential
