This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026.

The School
At Karratha Senior High School (SHS) we empower every student to embrace opportunities, build resilience, and contribute positively to society. SHS offers programs in music, drama, art, sport and outdoor education. The Technologies building provides facilities for skills in trades industries. The Health and Physical Education (HPE) department is located in the Karratha Leisureplex with a co-location arrangement with the City of Karratha.

The Role
The successful applicant should display strong professional knowledge, effective teaching practices, and experience to deliver an engaging secondary school curriculum. Teaching practices should align with the Whole School Instructional Model. The role includes creating a safe, inclusive classroom and supporting learning opportunities that empower students to reach their potential. Knowledge of a Positive Behaviour Support whole-school framework is desired.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with students, staff, and the wider community. The applicant should demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and innovation. Part of the role includes supporting online learning, liaising with the School of Isolated and Distance Education and the Gifted and Talented Online programs, and communicating with teachers outside the school. The position may require teaching in various learning areas as needed.
