The Maintenance / Fitter is responsible for balancing planned maintenance with urgent manufacturing breakdowns, ensuring timely responses and effective communication to facilitate quick, cost-efficient repairs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct scheduled maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Coordinator.
2. Manage breakdowns and equipment failures using standard methods and safe work practices.
3. Identify opportunities to improve plant and equipment reliability and efficiency, reporting these to the Maintenance Coordinator.
4. Report progress and completion of maintenance activities, contributing to equipment knowledge and performance records.
5. Ensure plant and equipment are 'fit for purpose' and meet food safety standards before handover to production.
Qualifications and Skills
* Trade Certificate III or equivalent recognized in NSW.
* Fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
* Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and safe work practices.
* 1-3 years post-trade experience as a Fitter & Machinist.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate.
* Proficiency in mechanical repairs.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
