About the role...*
Reporting to the Care Manager, Personal Carer Attendants assist with the delivery and support of Resident-centred direct care relaying to the activities of everyday living as per the Residents' choices.
Your daily activities will include:
- Monitoring the Residents' well-being and reporting any changes in addition to managing risk
- Liaising with families and refer any concerns or issues
- Completing documentation relating to Resident care as directed
- Providing all aspects of care to the Resident as per the Resident's care plan - ensuring that care delivered to Resident is of the highest quality
- Being aware of the Resident's needs and prioritise work to ensure Residents are able to attend all activities and/or appointments to ensure the best possible quality of life
- Identifying the strategies used to prevent triggers that may result in an adverse response/behaviour from the Resident
- Identifying the triggers and changes in the Resident's behaviour including resistance to care
- Complying with all infection control guidelines and precautions including appropriate linen and rubbish management
- Complying with all manual handling and mobility requirements for the Resident including falls prevention and management
Demonstration of a 'best practice' and holistic approach to the provision of care to Residents of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and the ability to encourage their feedback is also required.
Adherence to LHI policies, procedures, guidelines and mandatory documentation to ensure compliance is another key responsibility in this role. Collaborating in a positive and professional manner with family members, team members and other stakeholders will help to further achieve your success as an LHI Carer.

You are an upbeat and positive person, who is able to clearly communicate, and build genuine relationships with Residents, the team and other staff and ensure a high level of dignity is maintained.
To be considered for this role, you MUST have the following relevant experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications:

Essential skills & competencies: *

Medication Credentialed preferred but not essential
- High motivation and passion to deliver quality care for persons in memory support units
- Ability to work with a flexible and punctual approach in attendance and in all tasks
- Have a high availability to fulfil shifts as required
- Work with a 'customer service' focus
- Be a team player
- Good interpersonal and clear communication skills
- Ability to closely follow processes and directives
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- Certificate 3 in Aged Care
- Minimum of 1 year's working experience in Aged Care
- Have the right to work in Australia
