Durock Drilling is an Australian-owned exploration drilling company specialising in RC, Air Core and Diamond drilling across projects nationwide. We pride ourselves on strong safety standards, quality drilling, and building crews who look out for each other.
We are currently seeking experienced Diamond Drillers for an immediate start for long-term projects. This is a FIFO role working across remote and mine-site locations.
About the Role
As a Diamond Driller with Durock, you'll be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality drilling outcomes in remote environments. You'll lead a small crew, maintain drilling equipment, and ensure operations meet program targets, safety requirements, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain drill rigs in line with company and site procedures
* Mobilise and Demobilise drilling equipment
* Deliver safe, efficient, and productive drilling
* Accurately complete daily drilling reports, logs, and safety documentation
* Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance to minimise downtime
* Lead, support, and coordinate Driller's Assistants and Trainee Drillers
* Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field and resolve them efficiently
* Monitor consumables and manage stock levels on site
* Comply with all site safety, environmental, and operational requirements
* Assist with training and mentoring of less experienced crew members
What We're Looking For
* Demonstrated experience as a Diamond Driller
* Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and remote environments
* Capability to lead a small crew under pressure
* Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Strong understanding of drilling operations, safety standards, and field logistics
* Commitment to maintaining accurate drilling records and reports
* A strong safety-first attitude
Mandatory Requirements
* Current Manual Driver's Licence
* Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence
* National Police Check (issued within the last 3 months)
* Applicants MUST be physically fit and will be are required to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug and alcohol screening.
