JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager ready to step up as our Senior Sales Manager and lead by example within Pier One Sydney Harbour, an iconic harbour-side hotel.
In this role, you will act as a key reactive seller while guiding Sales Executives, driving revenue growth and elevating the hotel's commercial success.
You will be responsible for achieving personal revenue targets, hosting impactful site inspections, delivering exceptional client entertainment, and fostering customer loyalty through service excellence.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in selling MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) for 4- or 5-star hotels or event venues, strong market relationships, and competitor knowledge.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sales, this position offers quarterly performance-based bonuses and the opportunity to take ownership of commercial decisions while advancing your professional profile within one of Australia's Best Places to Work—Marriott Hotels.

What You'll Do: Develop and execute creative event proposals and sales strategies.
Respond to incoming opportunities and proactively source new leads.
Build strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
Conduct site inspections and manage event planning documentation.
Negotiate contracts and upsell packages to maximize revenue.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure flawless event execution.
What We're Looking For: Proven experience selling MICE in 4- or 5-star hotels or event venues.
Existing relationships in the market and knowledge of competitor landscape.
Strong negotiation and closing skills with a proactive sales mindset.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage complex business with significant revenue potential.
