POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Formwork and Concrete Labourer at MANA CIVIL you will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled tradespeople. This hands-on position is vital for the efficient and safe execution of formwork, concreting and construction tasks on-site. You'll contribute significantly to project success by assisting with site preparation, material handling, and general labour, while gaining valuable experience with a clear path to career progression.
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a casual position with a strong opportunity to progress to a full-time role within 6 months based on performance, commitment, and skill development. You will be responsible for assisting with the setup, execution, and completion of all formwork and concrete-related tasks, along with general construction labour. Your support will be instrumental in the creation and maintenance of durable structures across various civil projects. You will work under the guidance of our experienced tradespeople, following instructions to maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. SITE PREPARATION & SUPPORT
* Assist skilled carpenters and concreters with the setup and stripping of formwork.
* Prepare, mix, and transport materials, including concrete, cement, and timber, to and from work areas.
* Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by clearing debris, rubbish, and hazards.
* Assist in the safe installation and removal of barricades, ramps, and scaffolding.
2. ON-SITE COLLABORATION & SAFETY
· Work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the team, following direction from the Site Supervisor and tradespeople.
· Communicate needs or potential issues related to materials or safety promptly.
· Participate actively in toolbox talks and site inductions.
· Adhere to all site-specific safety regulations and procedures.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Construction Induction Card (White Card).
· Course Qualification in Asbestos Awareness.
· Course Qualification in Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention.
· A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
· Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
· Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
· Current Driver's Licence and a reliable vehicle.
· Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
· Ability to travel interstate for projects when necessary.
