What you'll be doing
As Executive Officer for Mental Health Services, you will provide high-level organisational, operational and strategic support to the General Manager and MHS Executive. This pivotal role ensures the Office of the General Manager operates efficiently, professionally, and with exceptional attention to detail across sensitive and complex matters.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver expert executive support on complex and confidential issues impacting Mental Health Services
* Lead the development and implementation of management systems, workflows and processes aligned to strategic and operational plans
* Manage all communications for the Office of the General Manager, including ministerials, briefs, board reports, presentations and complaints
* Coordinate operational and corporate priorities, ensuring timely action and effective follow-up with internal and external stakeholders
* Provide professional leadership to administrative staff across MHS and act as a trusted delegate for the General Manager
Qualifications and experience
* Extensive demonstrated success in providing high-level executive support to a senior executive officer within a large complex environment
* Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills with extensive experience in negotiation and conflict resolution, including building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
* Demonstrated success in developing and leading high performing administrative teams
* Proven ability in prioritising requests, managing workloads and exercising sound judgement in a changing environment often under tight timelines and high volume conditions for both personal workload and that of a team
* Proven skills in making business decisions utilising a mixture of data analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement
* Proven negotiation skills, particularly when working with Committees, employees, consumers, stakeholders and/or unions on projects or with senior executives
* Demonstrated ability to design and implement work systems/structures and workflows which effectively and efficiently supports the complex and high volume work environment of the Office of the General Manager
